Shea Butter

Greetings Skin Care Fans!

One of the main ingredients in our new skin balm is Shea Butter. Shea Butter may seem like the flavour of the month as far as skin care ingredients go; however, this decadent ingredient goes back far into history.

Seeds of a shea tree — raw materials for oil production

Shea butter typically grows wild in the savannah belt of West Africa. It is  a fat extracted from the nut of the African shea tree (Vitellaria paradoxa) and in its’ raw form is usually yellow in colour whilst is white in colour upon further processing.

Shea butter is commonly used in the cosmetics industry due to its moisturising properties and its ability to be absorbed rapidly into the skin. Here are some reasons to choose skincare products with Shea Butter.

5 reasons why Shea Butter is good for Mum and Baby’s skin:

  1. It is an excellent emollient for dry skin.

Our All-Over Skin Balm can be used by both mum and baby alike. It is deeply nourishing and rich in texture and contains other great ingredients such as coconut and sunflower oils. You will simply love the calming aromas of Neroli and Lavender as well.
